The Costumes that she tends to wear
To flatter twisted strands of hair are
Cascading and long, like flowing tresses
Her budded and floral, seasonal dresses
She wears them for months on her cat walk
    Sporting Spring greens
    To soft Autumn browns
Masquerading her beauty in cities and towns

    From budding to fruiting
    To leaves falling away
Nature exhibits her costume on runways each day

2- Bittersweet Costumed for Spring and Summer

3- Bittersweet Costumed in her September Dress w/Fruit

4- Bittersweet Costumed in fully ripened fruit

5- I took this photo only minutes ago.  The photo #2, taken a day ago, is a close up of the berries in the stage they are in now.  This photo is a vertical, the camera is held low to the ground facing upwards in attempt to give you an idea of the height but it isn’t very good.  The growth is upwards to 100 feet into the air.  I planted it as a bare root seedling along with quite a few others.  An endangered species because of its being gathered over the holidays and sold as little sprigs for wreaths.  I try hard to protect it.  The birds eat the ripe berries and have done a good job of seeding as I have hundreds of sprouts that grow up from our lawn.

Not having children at home anymore I am at a loss for costume subject matter.  Thinking this will work so I am adding the graphic below.  I did it for my sister who is a clown, the one in the middle.

A Graphics Copyright class thru the yahoo network.  It’s free and informative.  Anyone who works with original artworks or any copyrighted medium will find the lessons well worth time spent.  I recommend them for artist and non-artist alike.  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GraphicCopyrights/

    Keep on taking those photos,

  • Amazing post as usual. I love your perspective. Nature! Thanks for the heads up on the yahoo copyright class. I’ll have to check it out. Have a great week! Bring in the clowns.

  • Wonderful twist. Nice pictures. Keeps things interesting.

  • Great idea for the challenge!! I know I’ve been stumped on this one…….you did good!!

  • Thanks for the link!! I went and did some strolling thru already and will be back for more!! There are some beautiful bridges here around Portland…I love them as well & will try to get some more pictures of them posted.

Incredible bear story as well……I do have a fascination with the critters and am trying to learn as much about them as I can. I don’t care to have such a close encounter as yourself though!! Whew……think I’ll stick to the zoos!!

  • thanks for the compliments and letting me know what was up with my pictures. I fixed them this morning after you reminded me my links were probably bad. I also thought about what you might think or say about my post. I should have said that I had accomplished little of what I would like to have by now. We all hope to accomplish certain things, and of the things I want, I’ve done little to get there. I hope that makes better sense and tells you that I don’t expect everyone to have the same goals as I do. Anyway, love to both of you.

  • great take on the topic. I loved your shots!

  • Your photos are always so gorgeous!
