Weekly Photo Challenge, “Pets and Their People”
the subject is:
”Pets and Their People”
Suggested by: Handmade_NI don’t have pets of my own anymore. For photos, I look to the odd encounter or to pets in my daughter’s household, 3 dogs, 2 cats and I believe at least 3 snakes. My photos were all taken in 2006 in Virginia. The photo above has been displayed before and is actually 4 photos manipulated for a challenge given by a friend. The challenge was, “Change the view in the window”. Halie’s pets are prime targets when we visit. See the original photo to compare changes, CLICK HERE
Another offering from the challenge, This is the yard where the dogs and cats run, the garden grows and the flowers manipulate your senses. There are herbs growing and caterpillars, by the hundreds, are feeding on the leaves. They are destined to be Black Swallowtail butterflies and we all took a great interest in watching them and their growing process / progress.
This is Christmas Eve and everyone is tired including the dogs, who are treated as if people, being allowed the softest and warmest spots on the beds.
All animals like my husband. They know he has hands that give the best pets and rubdowns.
Mitch and Eden are runners. The whole family is pro outdoors activity. The dogs go regularly to run or to enjoy the beach or ??? Notice, the bonding between the dogs and their people pets is pretty tight.
My reward for just being there, nice visits, great food and some really good photo opportunities.

and pets don’t pose – making them wonderful photo subjects
ryc: no doubt – if I have to explain twice, its a problem. Oh well, I keep trying.
Gotta love being on display
Aaah, you know I don’t mind. But I can’t believe how LONG my hair is in that picture! Aaack!
Looking forward to your Christmas visit THIS year.
Good job! I very rarely can get my pet to be still in a pic with anyone.
These are all lovely photos!
)
beautiful and i love that dog who keeps climbing in bed with everyone
Such lovey pups. I love the cuddly-ness of these pups.
Cute photos! What program do you use to enhance the backgrounds?
Mine never pose, I just follow them around with my camera until I get the shot I like.
Happy Friday!
The bed shot is great, i dont know who looks more comfortable, i remember seeing the first one before, good stuff!
RYC: Thank you, I think she’s beautiful too. And yes, she is a chocolate lab and is the sweetest, most spoiled dog in the world!
What a change in the first photo .
i am unable to say what photo I like the best . Each of them has its charms .
The second gives an idea of abounding life.
The third and 5th an idea of abandon in peace .
The 4th a idea of dream ( your husband )
And the last has a purity of style . Perhaps , For me , it would be the best .
Good job , Becca.
I add I noticed your wonderful background and I can say this reminds me of something in a similar style you sent to us .
Love
Michel
O M G — you have GREYS??? I have a GREY! I love her! She is a retired/rescued racer – been in 44 races, won 4 — guess that is why she is lying on my floor instead of the crate at the track! LOL. She was born in Texas, but raced in Florida and we adopted her in CT – now we live in NC…..she is a traveling girl!
How exciting!
Love your photos and work!
I am a ding dong — didn’t READ the post — just looked at the photos! Who is that owns the GREYS??? LOL
OY. If I only had a brain.
Pets are people too. Great photos.
Wow, you really went all out with the photo collages, they are a lot of fun. Thank you for all the comments you left on my site, I appreciate the time you take to leave them. I know what you mean about loving bets but also appreciating the freedom of not having to take care of them for a while. Have a great weekend.
great stuff… love the one of them sleeping by the fireplace
very nice… i think i like the one of the half fella with the kitty..
sharing bed, couch and naps….. sounds and looks familiar. “the bond between the dogs and their people pets” – love it!
The lady on the beach signifies that “pets and their people” picture that I was looking for! She almost looks like a greyhound – her stature and the way she holds herself. Awesome pictures!
Nice!! I love greyhounds and am thinking of adopting a retired racer.
Great post. You’re right about the bonding…especially in these pics.
These are great shots of pets. I don’t have pets anymore, unless my grandchildren count as pets.
Cleverly put together as always, lovely work!
The bond between pets and humans can be very strong. I loved seeing the images of the dogs and cats cuddling with their favorite humans. Pup T is my favorite cuddle buddy for sleeping or watching movies.
*sparkle
really great work! the manipulations are wonderful -g
I’d love to have a Greyhound but think we aren’t active enough to keep them occupied. Besides we have enough animals for now.
Great pics! I love the graphics you use!
