  • Weekly Photo Challenge, “Through the Glass”

    Weekly Photo Challenge

    the subject from Eneventure is:

    “Through the Glass”

I take a lot of “Through the Glass” shots as many of my photos are taken while traveling in the car. Having done so much of it I have to say, the amazing thing about glass to me is, it gives character from the outside or the inside to whatever it is you are looking through it to.

    My Photos

From the cold of a Winter’s night the light shining through a glass is warm and inviting.

Put us on the inside looking out into the frozen Winter and you can feel the cold even if you are safe and secure.

Looking through a windshield drenched and dripping with raindrops filled with the colored lights of shops you are still able to feel the wet clammy cold of the moisture which might nearly drown you if you were out in it.

And traveling behind the windshield in the hot or cold air of an underground tunnel can leave you breathless to get out of it thankful the glass of the windshield protected you from the whipping wind traveling through the tunnel at the same time as your auto.

Taking photos through the glass under any of the many conditions Nature throws at us is an amazing feat.  Light travels through your eye and through the camera lens and for the photos on this page through the glass to the image which would be seen differently for each of us holding the camera.

How exciting and motivating! for more of the same.

    Keep on taking those photos,

  • Oh nice shots, Judi

  • I like that second shot! Neat story to it. — ryc: I met Halie last summer when I visited back in the states- I think I’ve been subbed to you for a lot longer and had no clue you two were related at that time- her husband and mine are in the same field so that and her religious and political viewpoints caught my eye when I found her online- anyway- we got together for lunch and it was very enjoyable!

  • very nice shots!!

  • Taking photo through a glass gives sometimes unexpected  effects .
In this perspective I like especially the second with its diversity of lines : curved , straight , globe .; It looks abstract .
    Well done  Becca

  • Fantastic photos Becca!  I love the one of McD’s in the rain – the light catching the raindrops is beautiful!

  • Love the tunnel shot! Cool pic! ;)

  • I like the warmth of the first one. It reminds me of a house I like to drive by in the dark because it looks so inviting. great pics!

  • I really enjoy the picture with the icicles.  The slight reflection from the inside on the glass adds to it immensely!  Thanks for stopping by my page, by the way.  Your comment was very nice! :)

  • I absolutely love the last one. I have been wanting to take a similar shot but my camera wouldn’t cooperate. I like the way  the colors bounce in the windshield…

Enjoy the rest of your week!

  • I love all your photos, but the last one I think is my favorite.  Great motion shot!

  • Hiya.Lovely pictures.I love the McDonald’s one, busy but cosy at the same time!

  • Very cool – especially the tunnel shot!

  • Great stuff again, i like the second one best , theres a lot happening in that shot.

  • Cool! I like the fourth one : )

  • wow, what a great variety! I loved them all, but my favorite was the one in the tunnel!

  • Those are excellent shots. All of them. That’s the most interesting photo of a gas station I’ve ever seen. And the tunnel pic is so dynamic; love the color. But my favorite is the McDonald’s shot. Like an impressionist painting, even if it’s of a fast food joint.

    You’ve got real talent.

  • Thanks for coming by and the nice words about the photos. Judi

  • A neat collection of shots on the subject.

  • Beautiful collection of through the windscreens. I was going to say great atmosphere in the cold ones but it is a great atmosphere in all of them including the cursed MacDonalds. That one of looking at the Gas Station and you can see all the reflections of the interior lights in the glass. C’est magnifique ma cherie!
