  • Weekly Photo Challenge, 2 entries, “Moving Day” and “Summertime Blues”

    This week, 2 challenge entries
     ”Moving Day” suggested by Assipassi
    and
    Summertime Blues” suggested by
    StixAndStonz

Moving Day was a hard challenge because, it’s seldom I have ever moved and the last move was about 1971 and, I had no photos of our move and though I watched, no photo ops came about.  I ended up with photos of possible “movers and shakers” of household goods.

This mover and shaker is a do it yourselfer.  Looking at the van, he could be moving goods or maybe even a horse.

This mover has his truck piled to the hilt.  I imagine he had help at either end of the move.

A truck like this one can carry more than a single household’s furnishings.

And if it’s a big move, you may need a convoy.

Summertime Blues was another challenge I am lacking in suitable photos for but here are a few I thought would cover the challenge.

    Summertime Blues Photos

Before your move, you would have surveyed the area to see if the view or surroundings were suitable, if the grass was green enough or the Summer sky blue enough.

You may have found some acreage with the perfect house hidden beneath the Summertime Blue sky.

Or possibly the pinks and reds of the perfect cottage caught your eye as much as that blue sky with the puffy white clouds.

In the end, after being settled in, you plant your own summertime blues as each of us has our own idea as to what those blues are made of and what factors in to make the blues the happiest, not the bluest of colors.

I have a graduating granddaughter this week.  We hope to be there.  I’m not sure what kind of photos or what kind of schedule I will have.  Eden is a graduate of the 12th grade of high school in the International Baccalaureate program at her school in Virginia.  Some of my Xanga friends were instrumental in encouraging her and helping her to go to a special Summer program a couple of years ago.  I want to thank all of you special people again and I know Eden is greatful for your encouragements as well.

    Until the next time,

    Keep on taking those photos.

  • Moving Day. I think you have got to grips with that theme very well, as there sure is some moving going on in those pictures.

Summertime Blues. Oh! You have really done this one proudly Becca with the accent on the colour blue from the sky to flowers. The pictures of the flowers (both lots) gladden the eyes, very pretty! I love all you frames since they are unobtrusive and do not detract the eye from the subject. Great stuff ~ Tim

  • hey – thanks for your comment.  I love the way you have edited the pics, given them frames, or like the moving truck, somehow ‘watercoloured’ it all (second picture down)…

  • I am amazed by the huge truck used for any moves .  I wonder how people were doing to move when there was not such engines . Only horses ! Probably they owned much less furnitures . When we moved here we needed two trucks ( not so big than the one pictured above )
I like the blue of the flower is Summertime . At this moment here , it ‘ s cherry time .

Thanks for he news Becca ; i wish the new meds calm you inceasing pain .
Eden ‘ s graduation will bring you a more peaceful state , I am sure .
    Love
    Michel
    ps : I will send a e.mail to Tim

  • the trucks are great, but I love the flower shots! :) Blessings!

  • Photographics,
Just wanted to thank you for the advice you imparted to me on what digital camera I should get for me first mate! She adores the camera and never leaves home without it. Great suggestion.

Now I must ask another question. I am looking for a point and shoot for me. However, I am a one pirate wrecking ball! I destroy watches, cameras, etc. I recently found the Stylus 1030 SW and was wondering if you have heard anything about the camera. I would be interested to know what you think!!

    Thanks in advance!

  • I start to worry Becca and I hope you are well .
I sent a message to Tim as you have suggested .
Today I found a site with beautiful pictures . I gave the link to Tim Beddard and I give it to you too . Here is :
