Weekly Photo Challenge, “Reflections”
Visit and play the
Weekly Photo Challengethis week, “Reflections” suggested by Czolya & myself, Photographics“Reflections”, are to me, some of the most exciting photos I take, and as reflections of any kind always catch my eye, on other pages, I believe they appear to me as some of the most exciting photos other people take. I look for reflections wherever I go and have taken reflection photos in water, on plate glass, mirrored glass and in the sides of highly polished cars. I have taken photos of reflections in Summer, Winter and otherwise finding reflections in any season equally appealing.

Plate glass windows are everywhere especially at food establishments. This window is situated in the wall of a White Castle Hamburger fast food. I was situated in the car beside my husband who was in the payout line waiting for our order. It was nearing 4 in the afternoon in April and clearly we were sitting in the shade of the building with the sun catching colors elsewhere and reflecting in the restaurant window. I had to take the pic and am always glad I carry my camera EVERYWHERE.
The plate glass face of Cici Pizza is a great spot for photos weather you are outside looking in or inside looking out as the glass plates stretches across the complete front of the Cici exterior. This family sat two tables in front of us as we ate. Their baby persisted in crawling out of his chair onto the table to stand nearly in the families food. After we left, I sat in our car hoping to catch him on the table again and while waiting I took a few other photos. What you see here is from the inside of my car through the windshield through the plate glass and across the table. Trees are well behind me but reflected in the glass along with other colors from business caught by the reflection. Catching what looks to be a satisfying bite of pizza helped make this photo a fun one.
The baby is up and ready to climb on the table but dad slowed him down. The window framed it all including the reflecion from the outside world as the baby sequence unfolded.
Another day but the same windows at Cici looking from the inside at the night sky and evening lights. The reflection of the lights at top are inside restaurant lighting that appears as a squadron of UFO in the glass.
One of my portraits hiding in the shadow of reflections. I think we were at the Honey Baked Ham store and I was ready to get into the car but noticed the beautiful reflection in the window. I love seeing the views captured when I load them into my computer as there is always more than I realized when taking them. It’s fun and getting a bit of an exposure of myself, I don’t mind sharing, is fun too.
Thanks always for your comments.
Have a great week and keep taking those photos.

Very Nice. I carry my camera everywhere too, but it’s not the greatest. I love to take pics and post them. I have some on my site but have never tried the photo contest. I might try it sometime. You did a great job on these.
I’ve just started carrying my camera more often. It was especially helpful with this challenge. You must eat out a lot!!!
I love that first photo!
@mr_randyc - Hi Randy, if you take photos, no matter how good that camera is, the challenge is fun and gives you something to do with your photos. Don’t be shy, take your pics and jump into the challenge. Thanks for looking at my page and your comments.
@gandywhite - You should keep your camera with you with your photographic eye. I’m always impressed. It isn’t always easy to tote a camera, my bag is HEAVY. The plus is the pictures not missed if the camera is sitting at home. Not being real mobile most of my images are taken from the car but restaurants come in handy for people watching. We do our share of fast food and Cici isn’t as unpredictable as some places. For a little over $5.00 per, all you can eat salad, soup, pizza and a brownie, is a bargain.
Nice photo story! I especially love the second one from the bottom.
I really liked the fourth photo, the one from the inside photographing the outside. The one thing that I always enjoyed about photographing plate glass was the ability to create a different world, strange dichotomy, or something unexpected.
@Czolya - Seems I always get something unexpected in reflections. I frame my shot and think I know what is there but in plate glass, something extra always seems to show up. The color in the first image struck me when I looked at it on the computer. It didn’t seem nearly that full of color when I took it. I’ll check your site again before this is over for your added photos or explanation. Becca
Fun challenge. I love reflections. These pictures are wonderful. The cloud’s relection is my favorite. Hmmm. I think I better go reflect on this one.
Nice work here Becca, my favourites are 2 and 4, but they all have a lot going for them. I always look upon my self as more of a landscape photographer than anything else, so 2 and 4 take the edge for me. I think the background you have created here is worthy of a mention as well. It is so original being pleasantly different to the run of the mill stuff, and sorry to Xanga but who wants themes when you can create your own stuff? That is one of the Xanga attributes that I prefer.~ Tim
I like the restaurant images because you stick real and virtual images , by dirct view through the glass and reflection view on the glass . This is interesting and was certaily a technic of the the first movies before the between the wars I and II . .
the last photo is interesting as your silhouet is standing on a wonderful background made with bue sky ansd white clouds
Thanks Becca to share your pleasure with us .
Love
Michel
