       “Red”

I love colors / colours for those of you outside of the US.

Some Colors speak for themselves and Red does it with flair.  In the right instance, Red hops into our senses most beautifully and its variations in shade, showing up in plants, clothing, cars, furnishings, hair color and the blush of a cheek, surround us in all seasons.  Red can be happy or the color I avoid wearing if not feeling my best because it manipulates emotions.

I don’t know what these berries are but the line of trees, filled with them, is intense.

The red shrubs are amazing and many are planted as hedge for the fall color.

These trees are in our local park.  They take your breath away when they are in their Autumn dress.

Thanks always for looking and for the fun of the challenge.

  • Wow those colors really “pop!”

  • WOW!!!!!  Stunning!!  I just can’t seem to photograph red’s.  The pixels just seem to bleed into each other.

  • Beautiful and perfect topics for this challange.

  • Red Red Red. Nice shots! Red is a hard one for me, but I played anyway. Have a good one!

  • Beautiful Becca, I’ve not done this one yet but I’m working on it, hope you are having a nice week end!

  • On your photos , Becca , the whirte makes the red sing , such on the second photo and on the last . Good collection on the topic .

    Love

  • Tons of redness here! I get a tad jealous of your colourful trees in America, autumn foliage never seem quite as dramatic here.

  • How beautiful your flowers are. On my pomegranate tree the flowers do turn into the fruit. Thanks for commenting.

  • Love those trees!  They are breathtakingly beautiful.

  • Very nice Becca, I simply love the way in which the reds are contrasted with the rest of the photographs. To me this is what makes it interesting. ~ Tim

  • I love red flowers! Nice shots.

  • Your pictures are gorgeous, as always. But number 5 and 6 are outstanding. We don’t even have reds like that here in Indiana.
    Breathtakingly beautiful.

  • @guestbrief - Hi to everyone and thanks for stopping to see my entry for the weekly photo challenge Red.  I appreciate your taking the time.  Cont. below …

@Neeka1 - Some of you mention red is harder to capture for you.  My camera has built in filters I can adjust to enhance colors.  The filters help if the normal setting is not catching the color as I want it. The reds in the trees and hedges in the photos above are pretty true but I may have had a filter on.  I play with them a lot. Cont. below …

@styx_site - If filters aren’t used, I want good light, good light, good light and if possible, my shooting direction is next in importance, which I don’t always have the opportunity to do.  Sometimes I have to take what I get, no questions especially in the car.  More than not the sun is in my face which really messes up the photo oportunities.  I have taken some really nice black sillouettes this way especially for sunsets.  It’s all learning process for me, NEVER ENDING and with lots of mistakes and baaaad photos.  Cont. below

@Jaynebug - Jayne, I try always to play the challenge.  I figure if I want people to play with mine, I owe it to them to play with theirs.  If I don’t have what I think they want I improvise and invent a way to do the challenge either by a new photo or a different way to look at the subject.  I’ve seen you do that many times.  I love seeing what people come up with, innovative or inventive.  I recall your slinkies and thought that was really a fun entry.

@Timages - Some of us are so busy with life, it’s hard to find time to play but a single photo keeps people in touch with what goes on in the lives of good people  in other parts of the world.  I like seeing or reading something joyful instead of terrorism or hate all of the time.  Cont. below …

@fauquet - Some of my visitors don’t play with the challenge but they never fail to stop by to say hello and encourage me with kind words.  It’s a good feeling when friends from France, England, Germany, Portugal, pop in to share a smile. This one is for all of you.  :)   Cont. below …

@Zimbo - A simple word like “red” brings out the creativity in us and our photos.  I want to thank everyone for every word entered in the challenge.  It’s always fun, sometimes harder to do but always fun to take the challenge on.  Cont. below …

@Dilettanti - When I think of the things I see in your photos that I’ll never see in person, its cause to be thankful.  Pomegranite tree / flowers / fruit.  What an amazing and beautiful world we live in.  Cont. below

@wheaties2bk - It makes my day when someone says one of my photos brought something breath takingly beautiful into their lives.  Cont. below …

@graphic_excesses - Some of you have become such good friends.  I look forward to and feel disappointed when I don’t see you as you have become something to look forward to, such a good thing …  Cont. below …

@BigToePeople - Nice words, nice people, a nice way to play and get to know each other  a little.  Cont. below …

@ziggswife - When people disappear for a while, it’s always nice to see them back and playing and when they think its worth their time to stop by and check out what I am doing in my little house in Xanga , I feel special.    Thanking all of you so much, you help make my day a good one.  Becca
