We love markets and marketing.  We used to sell at markets a lot. The sad thing, you finally get worn down with the work so you give in and do your marketing elsewhere in bits and pieces.

So, a few of my photos.

1-  We loved selling at markets, it felt as if you lived at a carnival it was really fun.  The market in this photo is Friendship, Indiana.  We took part every season for quite a few years.  It was loads of work but entertaining work.

2-   When you give up selling at markets you have lived at off and on for extended periods of time, you re-discover many of your purchases have to be made at individual stores.  Shopping this way is still marketing but not nearly as amusing.  You visit clothes stores for clothes,

     MarketPlace-3_©RSBlain.JPG

3-  the garden shops for plants etc.

     MarketPlace-4_©RSBlain.JPG

4-  lumber gets loaded up from the lumber yard

     MarketPlace-5_©RSBlain.JPG

5-   Pumpkins come from the grower or a festival you wish you were set up at

    MarketPlace-6_©RSBlain.JPG

6-   lawn chairs come from the hardware store

7-   and when your day of shopping is done with, you wonder just how all of your purchases will fit in the car.  No difference really, it just takes mapping out your day of drive by marketing.

To those of you fortunate enough to have really good markets to shop in, have fun, enjoy, I’ll be always thinking of how much fun I had in the past.

Thanks for your visits and comments.

  • Great market place shots.

  • Nice shots Becca, those pumpkins are very seasonal !

  • I like too the ambiance of the market and the pleasure to discover the most unexpected things .
I like your photos . I suppose the man is John . Handsome . The second photo is original .
We have two pumpkins in the garden but they are not as much enormous as the ones on the picture above .
Thanks , Becca , for the e.card where the little bear makes a ride with a hot balloon . Well found and appropriate to my latest post.

Thanks also for your kind worsds .

    Love

  • Great photo’s and that first one looks like the market is in beautiful surroundings too with all those trees.

  • Dear Becca,
I hope everything is well with you!
As usual I’m in that time of the year when I have more chores to do at school… So I don’t come to xanga so often and end up buy missing my friends posts…
I was almost sure I had commented this photos of yours as I’ve seen your post by e-mail long ago and loved the photos, the graphic treatment and the way you tell us the story.
Thank you for your trouble on doing it as it must take you hours. Mine usually do…
    Have a nice Sunday!
    Isabel

  • More smashing shots, and a nice piece of photo editing too as I an thinking that number 7 is an edited combination of photos $ and 6 with a pumpkin thrown in for good measure. ~ Tim

  • @tim_beddard - Hi Tim, yes, a bit of editing and for some reason my PSP has been giving me problems freezing up.  Thinking some new update from Microsoft is messing with its mind which makes me a bit on the upset side.  Anyway, still fun to work with when I have the time.  Thanks for taking time to look at my entries.  Becca
