I discovered a long time ago, the finer things in my life are the simpler things in life.  I also discovered, you don’t have to be inside a building to worship.  Worship, to me, is ”true appreciation” and if shown daily in the way we live and act, for all things, we have it going on.  This small group seemed to “have it going on for them” and heads dropped when it was announced the blessing over the food would be said.  The food and the fellowship was blessed, shared, appreciated and we were so fortunate to have the opportunity to spend a little time with old/best neighbors we could have ever have been blessed with.  I know this church group is blessed as well with their participation.  The pastor for this group is the first man behind the table on the left and our good neighbor, Bill, stands beside him.  Bill and his wife (Ida, not shown) are responsible for the fact we don’t have a mountain of concrete standing in our drive as John almost heat stroked with the pouring of that one.  Bill and son (not shown) saved the day and finished the concrete.  I have story after story about Bill and Ida and can tell you if God truly exists, they (Bill and Ida) will be some of who get to meet him firsthand.  I think, maybe, they already have.

More to come from the same picnic, a series of 6 or more photos I will post on this event.

  • Love your banner. Family fun and worship looks like a great time. I feel blessed to get three (3) comments from you in one day. Wow. Cheers

  • i feel the group is blessed… from the pic, as well.

  • Looks like everyone had a great time and there also looks to be plenty of food to go round.

  • We went to Mrs Pete’s maternal family reunion yesterday.  There is fellow who is not related but grew up with all the older ( 70+ ) cousins. He is a minister & every year he gives the blessing before we eat.  Nicest guy in the world. Helps make it special.

    Pete
