The Costumes that she tends to wear
To flatter twisted strands of hair are
Cascading and long, like flowing tresses
Her budded and floral, seasonal dresses
She wears them for months on her cat walk
    Sporting Spring greens
    To soft Autumn browns
Masquerading her beauty in cities and towns

    From budding to fruiting
    To leaves falling away
Nature exhibits her costume on runways each day

3- Bittersweet Costumed in her September Dress w/Fruit

4- Bittersweet Costumed in fully ripened fruit

5- I took this photo only minutes ago.  The photo #2, taken a day ago, is a close up of the berries in the stage they are in now.  This photo is a vertical, the camera is held low to the ground facing upwards in attempt to give you an idea of the height but it isn’t very good.  The growth is upwards to 100 feet into the air.  I planted it as a bare root seedling along with quite a few others.  An endangered species because of its being gathered over the holidays and sold as little sprigs for wreaths.  I try hard to protect it.  The birds eat the ripe berries and have done a good job of seeding as I have hundreds of sprouts that grow up from our lawn.

Not having children at home anymore I am at a loss for costume subject matter.  Thinking this will work so I am adding the graphic below.  I did it for my sister who is a clown, the one in the middle.

A Graphics Copyright class thru the yahoo network.  It’s free and informative.  Anyone who works with original artworks or any copyrighted medium will find the lessons well worth time spent.  I recommend them for artist and non-artist alike.  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GraphicCopyrights/

    Keep on taking those photos,

  • Weekly Photo Challenge, “Signs of Fall or Autumn”

    Signs of Fall, or Autumn

The subject is also from weekly_Photo_Challenge

There are ”signs” and there are “signs” but some of the most beautiful are “The Signs of Autumn”.  Autumn falls in different months in different parts of the world but it is no less beautiful and it may take on different aspects than I am used to.  Maybe there are no trees where you are but if you have seasons there must be a pumpkin pie or a turkey or something that denotes a time of rest in one of them.

Old photos are going to have to work for the theme for me this time.  For us, fall has barely begun here in Cincinnati though there are leaves falling.  We are going into that “time of the year”.  Christmas and cold weather are not far away.

For now, I hope for some good fall color to come in this year but we have had a lack of rainfall and lots of heat.  Most of the entries I am posting are photos from last year except for one.  To view full size, click on the photo and enjoy.

    2004
My street right beside my home and I imagine
the view will be just about the same in a few weeks.

2004  I may have given the impression above that all of the photos posted are from my street.  WISHING … but from #2 on down, they are taken at favorite spots including our favorite pumpkin patch in Springboro, Ohio.  The above and the next two are in a city cemetery we enjoy going thru for all the history and the amazing landscape.

That’s it though I would love to post them all.

  • Criteria for the ~Photo~Graphics~ Photo Ring

When I began my photo ring, ~Photo~Graphics~

I had a criteria in mind.  I posted it into the “About This Ring”.  As the ring is approached by individuals who want admission they have the option to read the words written and in many cases, I point possible new members towards the “about this ring” words, to read and they say:

A RING FOR CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHERS and GRAPHICS ARTISTS, requiring regular posting of YOUR Copyrighted © PHOTOS or GRAPHICS ON YOUR XANGA SITE. Open to AMATEUR and PROFESSIONALS. This ring is monitored to maintain quality. If you ACTIVELY DISPLAY YOUR OWN © CREATIVITY, apply. NO PORNOGRAPHY. Dead sites with quality works remain in the list for viewing unless removed by its owner.

Why anyone would want to become a member of a ring with no intention of taking part in what it is about is a mystery but they do.  I monitor the ring.  I look at the possible new member before admitting him.  I direct them to the “About” and periodically I run the ring to see what the members are doing.

This ring like Xanga and like other rings in Xanga has productive members.  Being productive does not mean they are conforming to the ring using photos as they appeared to be when first applying for membership.  I ran the ring this past week.  I looked back thru many pages in the blogs and found many who have no photos posted running back pages and pages.  You may have a good blog, a really good blog but if your blog does not conform to what this ring was designed for, your blog is going to be, will be, removed.

This is a photo ring for photographers.  No regularly posted photos, nothing of interest for the rings existing photographers, you need to join elsewhere or begin your own ring.  You may have a wonderful blog but if you find yourself removed from this ring, what can I say except you didn’t bother to read the About.  I apologize if anyone is offended but don’t bother me with complaints.

  • Weekly Photo Challenge, “Smell This”

hosted by Chelle27  Her subject is

     Smell this!

If the truth be told, I love smells at least those that are pleasant.  I have a good nose and knock on wood, I am not bothered by allergies.  There are tons of smells I love and I can date many of them back to my childhood.  I can smell the rain coming and the extreme cold in Winter.  I love the smell of new mown grass and many perfumes (florals being my favorite) and flowers.  I love Tulips and Roses and LiliesOfTheValley and Honey Suckle and food, I can’t forget the smell of a roast in the oven or my grandma’s fresh baked bread or cookies or pies.  Babies, I love the smell of babies, freshly bathed and otherwise but fresh bathed is THE BEST.  There’s more, I love the smell of a clean wash and line dried clothes and sea air.

My favorite perfume is Charles of the Ritz (Ritz, the classic) and I can’t find it anywhereto buy, not even online and that is a heartbreaker.  I wear it in my hair and he loves it and tells me I smell so good.  I am just about out and am going to be very upset as there is nothing like hearing from him that I really smell NicE.

    CONVERSELY!!!

    I think

    my favorite smell

    is

    him!

A big thank you to the Challenge group.
I really needed THE EXTRA PUSH the challenge gives me.  It’s hard to keep up with the extras when you can’t keep up with what you really have to keep up with, like
    life.
Again, thank you for the challenge.

    Until the next time,
    keep on taking those  photos.

  • Weekly Photo Challenge, “Before and After” and “Favorite Things”

My entry for this weeks photo challenge hosted by tlck2000, her subject is

    before and after

this is of course, the BEFORE

    this is the AFTER

I was gone for the challenge, Favorite Things, dated
    Friday, September 02, 2005.

The photo challenge was hosted by Limeliteshines and so my entry for her subject Favorite things has to be

My camera, after my husband  .  My computer has to figure in there as well.  Family, Camera and Computer oh, and food!  What else is there?

That’s it for this time,  keep on taking those photographs.

  • Weekly Photo Challenge, “Night Visions”

    Weekly Photo Challenge is

    “Night Visions” suggested by Kubli420

This is an older photo I took and it was taken at a local shopping center.  I was taking views of contrails all day long as the sky was filled with them.  The exotic buildings to the right gave a mixed look of from where the photo might have been taken and added with the lights in the distance and the oncoming night sky it came out in an interesting fashion.  For a much nicer view, click on it to bring it up full size.

Just a few things I have been playing with in my graphics group.  The photos used are my own except for a couple my daughter took and I used.  I seem to be running behinder with each passing day but I still hope my world will slow it’s pace so I can play catch up.  We are going out of town and I have a new 540 meg picture card.  I am getting quite a few megs of storage in these little guys.  Some photos you hate to delete out of a card.

    Anyway, some pics.

Stamps are a fun project.  I use Paint Shop Pro and tutorials for projects to guide me to the finished product.  It’s fun.

The picture above and 2 below were taken by me at a clowning seminar.  I have two sisters who clown.  One does clown ministry and the other clowns anywhere and everywhere trying to help their income.  She is very funny and blogs once in a while here in Xanga Bunhilda.  Clowning seminars are a great place for photos.

This Young woman really looked super in an outfit she designed and made herself.  The baby was dressed to match. The following picture gives you a full view of her clown character.  I took a lot of photos for her without charge and added a lot of my graphic expertise.  I sent them to her and didn’t even get a thank you.  People never fail to amaze me.  Her clown name is of course, LadyBug.

This photo of me, my husband John took.  It is an exhausted and dead to the world portrait or he wouldn’t have gotten it.  I am pretty much camera shy not being photogenic but I really liked this one.  It has an artistic quality I have seen in some of the old Dutch masters I think.  What I see that does it is the dark colors and the light and shadow.  I’m not an art expert but I liked the photo and think he was very studious of a good shot on the sly.

This photo is a graphic compilation of photos I took.  The project was to take and use 5 or 6 photos turning them into a single picture.  The barn I used as the base photo and then, the hay bales, all the people, the sky and the dandelions and other floral growth you see came out of other photos.  I had a good time doing this and was proud of the way it turned out.  You should be able to click to enlarge it for a better view.

That’s it.  I have a lot of irons in the fire.  I will be taking photos on a trip we are taking.  A local trip sort of, the greatest distance from home maybe 500 miles.  There is a lot going on in that radius and I expect I’ll find some shots worth taking.  Posting more often will happen with some new photographic material and closure, eventually, of other things.

    Regards to all,
