Weekly Photo Challenge, “Smell This”
hosted by Chelle27 Her subject is
Smell this!
If the truth be told, I love smells at least those that are pleasant. I have a good nose and knock on wood, I am not bothered by allergies. There are tons of smells I love and I can date many of them back to my childhood. I can smell the rain coming and the extreme cold in Winter. I love the smell of new mown grass and many perfumes (florals being my favorite) and flowers. I love Tulips and Roses and LiliesOfTheValley and Honey Suckle and food, I can’t forget the smell of a roast in the oven or my grandma’s fresh baked bread or cookies or pies. Babies, I love the smell of babies, freshly bathed and otherwise but fresh bathed is THE BEST. There’s more, I love the smell of a clean wash and line dried clothes and sea air.
My favorite perfume is Charles of the Ritz (Ritz, the classic) and I can’t find it anywhereto buy, not even online and that is a heartbreaker. I wear it in my hair and he loves it and tells me I smell so good. I am just about out and am going to be very upset as there is nothing like hearing from him that I really smell NicE.
CONVERSELY!!!
I think
my favorite smell
is
him!
A big thank you to the Challenge group.
I really needed THE EXTRA PUSH the challenge gives me. It’s hard to keep up with the extras when you can’t keep up with what you really have to keep up with, like life. Again, thank you for the challenge.

I love the smell of fresh cut grass. Have a great weekend
thank you for you kind words…and yes they smell much better than any flower or food…Knight has a forehead smell that wipes me out
Cute picture of your hubby. I had heard or read somewhere that it is the pheremones (spelling?) that attract us to our loved one. I think that is why we each like our own hubby’s smell.
RYC: yes, you can go around Lake Michigan. I think they call it the Circle Tour. Maybe if you Google it, you can come up with it. I think we are part of the route. If you ever do decide to do it, let me know. We will have to get together!!!
thanks for your comment and compliment. i’m tryin to keep up w/ my photo bloggin’. work keeps me from doin it as much as i’d like to though, heh. it’s easier/faster to type a few lines than to upload and post everyday.
I guess I’ve been a little behind lately with school starting and Maggie’s surgery. Like you said, Life gets in the way. I enjoyed going back and seeing all your latest photo blogs. It seems like the peacock was the only thing here for a while. I love the way that smells can bring back memories, like the smell of popcorn and movie theaters. I like the way you’re getting fancy with your photos–combining different elements.
LOL I couldn’t hurt anyone like that, nor could I allow someone to do it on my behalf, but the thought is nice. lol Thank you.
My favorite smell is clean cotton sheets. That makes me fall asleep faster than a wink. I must find a way to get creative and take a picture of my pillow that just got washed today.
actually, the ONLY flower smell i like is the spanish version of jasmine, a great flower always plucked by kids for their mother or grandparents, as during the summer it’s placed on night tables to get that niiiice smell, plus its qualities of keeping bugs away!!
yes, you really should go out and support the arts in your area, wherever i am, i try to catch art exhibits, no matter if at a small bar, restaurant or gallery. unless i hate the work, i always try to talk to the artist if present. my fotos are 8×12″ though those of my friend’s are sized differently but on a whole larger; i think her biggest prints without mat are 11×14″ or 16×20″. showing is really a VERY humbling experience but if you are a TRuE artist, it will make you HATE your art and LOVE it at the same time!
thanks again for your comments!!
Yes, that man is likely one of my favorite smells, too. He’ll remember me forever trying to sneak into your room at night, trying desperately to ward off the witches in my nightly dreams–this one particularly evil witch would buzz around my head, and she would only stop when I’d crossed the threshhold of your door. Being unwelcome in the mairrage chamber, I would crawl like a commando on my elbows covertly across your thick-rugged floor to the place by your bed where your comforter hung loosely around me, and there I would sleep until he found me and insisted I get in my own bed. Of course, where I really wanted to be was in the bed, but as he got up very early, no time ought be wasted on child’s play like this. On weekends, I had the joy of crawling in bed with the two of you or just with him after you roused for morning coffee and whatnot. Your bed was always the best place in the world, so comfortable, so warm, and Daddy’s pillow always smelled of him, so good.
Just your description alone of smells and scents had me conjuring up aromas in my head!
that is awesome.
and ironic, cos i told my husband that i wish i could take a photo of him for the challenge – cos he is my favourite smell too!
Great picture!! Your “word” pictures brought up some good scents too!!
I like it..a lot
Wait, is that Thai food he’s bringing? I love the smell of Thai food! heh.
I agree press pot coffee is the best!!……….I also like old fashioned perked coffee!!…..o heck…….I just like coffee!! ha
very nice picture of him… i love the photoshop work you did on it!
ps. i think we started this ring w/cyberene doing signs so she was first… unless no one gave her a topic and she’s starting over
great post!!!! I understand the power of smell. I knew it was time to divorce the ex when I could no longer stand his smell. L* Its odd because in the beginning I couldnt sniff him enough. The mind is a bizarre organ. Have a great day!
