Weekly Photo Challenge, “Art in Nature”
the subject from Assipassi is:
“Art in Nature”
To me, all of Nature is art. Nature is an ongoing influence in our everyday from the textures and shapes we see to Nature’s palette of colors. As Nature is ever changing from day to day, season to season and you can see, easily, the changes in its palette of colors I decided to go with color changes as “Art in Nature” with my photos.
I am posting two sets of photos, one scene in each set, taken at different angles, times of day or season displaying a tiny fraction of the color palette in Nature’s Art.
My photos were all taken at
Lake Isabella, Remington, OhioSet #1: The scene viewed is the East side of the lake.
May 2007Set #2: The scene looks towards the lodge and was taken from the East looking West.
November, Thanksgiving Eve 2006And the colors keep changing, affected by time of year, the rain, the temperature and ??? Amazing stuff and as many colors as we see in the Art in Nature’s palette, I’ve read some insects see even more.

Beautiful Becca! I love seeing how the landscape changes as the seasons go by.
Lovely tranquil scenes! The last one is my favourite.
I’m doing a lot of umming and ahhing about what to do for this subject.
Those are spectacular!
wonderful how the same spot can give us so many different images, i always wanted to do that , a sort of four seasons take, but i never remember to go back
Nice pics! The lighting looks great and the scene is very pretty : )
Beautiful! I especially like the last one!
DOn’t you just love how different the same place looks at different times of the day and year?
*sparkle
I got stuck on this one…I thought you did an excellent job of the challenge. Well done. It might just inspire me.
absolutely beautiful!!
@Timages - I had the same thought, to expand on a scene taking it over and over as the seasons change. I’m planning the idea out and hope to begin with it sometime tomorrow. I only have to decide on a definite spot which I pretty much have and then map it out so it’s as close to the exact scene in every take but giving leeway to live image that may be at the particular spot when I want to take the photos.
wonderful with difference season, all really beautiful, I love October 2006 too because I like that color.
I really love the color in the last picture.
Such amazing photos for this challenge!
You have certainly achieved the challenge. Lovely photos especially the sunset one.. Your special gift is is the use of colours in all your graphics.
How fantastic, what a great idea. We don’t have seasons in L.A. so all the photos would look the same.
What a great montage.I love the idea of one place captured at different times.Ithink also it’s a highly personal thing for the photographer too,as your memories are slightly different for each picture as you look back onthem.I feel some huge eprops coming on!!
I like much the one taken at Thanksgiving Eve and the other taken this month . I find in them a spirit of Nature . And the best for me is the last . ( This is only my opinion ,Becca ) .
Love
Michel
Those are all very sharp — you’re getting good results from that lens & camera – and they have excellent colors, as you say. The last one is magnificent.
And I like your idea (with Timages) of revisiting those places during different seasons.
Remington looks like a picturesque area. I’ll have to add it to my list of places to travel to in Ohio. Just can’t wait for the weather to improve….
@MattBarber - Actually Matt, sometimes, a camera’s job is to make any area look good. However, there is a lot of history in the area and spots of real beauty. Ohio definitely has a share of history and scenic places. As I am confined to an area most of the time I do a lot of shots in the same spots but I do get away from time to time and know of other scenic spots as well as Remington worth visiting in local communities. If you come to my part of the world you will have to meet up with my husband and I for lunch or ?? and before the fact I’ll make a list of spots in Ohio I can personally recommend.
Like the link–IE nature`s art—Nice pics too–
I particularly love the colour in that last one!
Thanks for participating in my challenge and hope you had fun!
Fascinating to see the changes. I love the colour in the last one too.
lovely they look like postcards!
@assipassi - Hi, I did have fun with your topic but I’m easy and like most of them. I like seeing what everyone else does with each topic and there were some really nice photos that showed up in this one for yours.
@PhotoGraphics - I’ve been thru the Cincinnati area many a time, without stopping (sadly), but from what I’ve seen, I tend to believe it is Ohio’s most pleasant big city. I figure Remington must have its good qualities, too. Then again, I’ve never really spent time in the Cincy area. Don’t know whether I’ll get out that way any time soon, though I would like to. There’s a very slight chance that I might apply for a teaching job in Cincy someday.
Most of my little family’s near-future travel plans are restricted to areas north and east (lovely St. Ignace, MI, for example, and the big city of Philadelphia, PA). I’m hoping to visit Hocking Hills in southern Ohio, this summer. Then there’s a photo field-trip/contest thing out there called “Shoot the Hills,” which looks like fun. Just fantasizing here, though. I had dreamed, once, of getting the Xanga Ohio photographers together in Hocking Hills, but I imagine it is closer for me than almost all the others, as I am coming from Wooster.
Periculosus_Z and we are in contact. I am not sure how interested he is in cameras but think he would stop by for a xanga meet. Others in this group are from Ohio but am not sure just where. Thinking it would not be too hard to discover and get hold of any interested in a Hocking Valley meet.
