Weekly Photo Challenge, “Candids”
the subject from Assipassi is:
“Candids”
My opinion has always been, the best photos, of living, breathing subjects, come from candids. Some of my shots are older and some from this week. All were taken in a mode of hiding either from a distance, an angle or a look of no concern. In some cases, the subject knew I had a camera but did not see the camera at the ready nor realize I had a shot planned for the taking.
My Photos
This image was taken through the windshield of our moving car. The location is near the bicycle trail in Loveland.
An outdoor image: Bicyclers resting while taking in the view of the river from the overlook in Eden Park.
This image taken from the side window of our slightly moving toward the parking lot, car: I have opportunity to take a lot of fishermen at Lake Isabella in Remington, Ohio.
An outdoor image: Fishermen are relaxed and take some nice photos.
An outdoor image: Some fishermen are so relaxed they verge on a little bit crazy. I have never seen a fisherman walk around in a boat as much as this man did, on the lake, no life vest.
This image was taken through the windshield of our parked car: I love pumpkins and when they make such good seating, you can take some really nice photos.
This image taken through the side window of our parked car: I took this at the computer store.
This image taken through the windshield of our car: I never know what I will see when we are driving not quite a mile from our house, .
An outdoor, night photo: The dance at Friendship is a wonderful spot to take some lovely shots and I hope this couple made it to the photo pages to see some of my photos of them.
This image taken through the windshield of our parked car: My daughter who is visiting for a few days. She likes the coffee shop so we made a stop and I took this beautiful shot of her coming out the door.
I like all of the images I have displayed but I continue to learn and connive ways to take “Candid” photos. The best shots really are “Candid”.
Have a super week and thanks always to those of you who take time to stop by to see the images burning holes in my Xanga.

Your pictures are really stunning. I LOVED the one of the pumpkin patch!! Nice work!!
I can’t decide which I like best. You just have some wonderful shots here. I’ll be back, just to look at these again.
Great shots. Your daughter is beautiful.
great shots! I esp liked the lady in the hat and the kid on the pumpikns
Nice work. Your daughter is very pretty.
Thanks for commenting on my photos. I fixed them so they all show up on Xanga now, instead of having to trace them back to my photography site.
Well, just look at all these treats. All of them fit nicely to the theme, but my favourite without any doubt at all is that elegant lady with the hat. She looks so beautiful and regal. Yes I know it is Halie, but I think you must have caught her when she was just being her natural self. What a Darling!
I forgot to say that I love the Bee header- superb!
I really like your fishermen pictures. Isn’t it wonderful how water brings such an ease to some people. As a “water baby” (Pisces) I can relate.
I love the little girl on the pumpkin and what a fantastic hat Halie has!
I’ve never liked pictures of people who are posing and find candid pictures of them the best but sometimes by the time I even get ready to take a picture they are either gone or aware of what I’m doing which ruins the mood, but you’ve done a great job here. The little girl in the pumpkin patch is cool. It looks like your daughter knew you were taking her picture or she knew that you would be taking her picture.
Nice selection as always Becca, i had to laugh though, have i seen those fishermen before?
@Timages - re: have you seen the fishermen before? Thinking these may be different fellows but the same guys fish at the lake so it’s never impossible to see more images of them. I don’t know any of them except through my camera lens, I just snap photos.
@Gitarezan - About my daughter’s candid, no, she didn’t know, it was through the windshield and unseen by her as to the happening. She does know my camera is always with me but she is pretty unused to images being taken through the glass as she barely ever takes photos that way.
I really really /adore/ the photo with the pumpkins. That’s the most heartwarming thing I’ve seen in a long time. Candids feel so… fresh to look at. I agree that candids feel the most lively, but I don’t take enough of them. Posing sometimes seems stale in comparison.
I love your pictures! Do you get nervous taking pics of people you do not know?
Amazing pictures, especially the first one given you were moving and so were the subjects. You take a lot of pictures through the windshield. The kid on the pumpkins is adorable
I love the pumpkin one!
You are very good!
There are various themes and styles in those beautiful photos Becca .
Don’ t we feel the serenity in the fishers at the lake Isabella and the other in his boat?
Don’ t we feel the tense in the racers ( first photo) ?
Dont ‘ t we feel the complicity iv the couple dancing ?
Don’ t we feel the innocence in the photo ” child and pumpkins ? “
Don’ t we feel the hesitation of the woman window shopping?
Don’ t we feel the elegance in Hallie ?
Great and expressive collection , Becca .
Love
Michel
Love the all but the last 2 are just fabulous.
I think the one of your daughter is gorgeous.
I wish I was in the boat fishing with the others….. *sigh*
As usual I love your shots
x
Very nice candid shots. I really like the one of the couple arm in arm. Of course, the shot of Halie is beautiful as well.
*sparkle
Love that pumpkin seat!
