  • Weekly Photo Challenge, “Vanity”

    Weekly Photo Challenge

    the subject from Southernlass is:

     ”Vanity”

the one thing you find most attractive about your external self

I am a casual, person.  I like being comfortable and I like people around me to be comfortable.  I don’t want difficulties or aggravation.  Everything I do is geared towards relaxation.

VANITY!  I have two things about my PHYSICAL SELF I’ll display and discuss.

    Vanity_Smile4TheBirdieBecca_RSBlain.jpg

1- I like my hair.  I have lots of natural dark curl for my easy going self.  I wash it push it around with my hands and I’m done with it.  If you want easy going, nothing is easier.  A haircut every so often and that’s it.

2- I’ve never been so large I couldn’t find something to hide behind.  I sure do love my camera.

Have a super week, thanks always for your comments and keep on taking your photos.

  • Hey!  Great post, and I have the ame camera!

Funny that you love your curly hair.  I HATE mine.  I guess because I consider it not curly, not wavy, but UNRULY!  It’s all in the perspective I guess.  BTW, love your page, who woulda thunk queen annes lace could look so pretty!

    Have a great day!

  • He he he…. great shot.

    NICE HAIR!

    R U on Flickr?

  • Hair is no longer a problem for me Becca, yours is something to be envious of!

  • Great post and I love the photo! This challenge is a tough one for me…I have to think about this…

  • I pay good money to have curly hair and it doesn’t begin to look as great as yours!  Love your pic!

  • @verucagirl - hI AND thanks for the comment.  I think I love my hair from way back as I learned it didn’t cost as much money to keep it up.  Queen Anne’s lace, I have taken so many photos of it and this one was the best ever.  I’m glad you like it, its the first time I have used it on my pages and put it up just last night before my new post.  Have a great week,

@sarahsD - Hi Sarah, I have a flicker acct but never use it.  Fact is, I’ve been talked into so many accounts because other people use them and want me to see something I have become account shy.  Slowly I am trashing all those that mean nothing to me.

@Timages - I prefer my men bald and am married to one who is.  It took him a long time to be happy about it but he has too many brains that replace the hair, perfect for me.

@ziggswife - I’m convinced its the hairdressers.  Some do what you want perfectly and others just don’t hit it right.  I go pretty cheap, to one of the chains and can’t even think of the name right this second, its a walk in and sometimes they have cuts for $5.00.  I usually miss the sale, darn it.  Thanks for the nice comment.

  • @PhotoGraphics -

lol fair enough. I should trash some of mine.

  • Great post Becca.  I’m kind of stumped on this one, I am more concerned about my inner self than my outer self if you know what I mean.

I used to have lots of copper highlights in my hair, alas sadly they are turning white.

  • @Gill_L - I know exactly what you mean per inner and outer selves.  I wasn’t sure what I’d do with this challenge as I am not a very vein person.  Hope you are well, I know you are busy with the kids back to school.  Missed seeing you on my last entry so know you are up to your ears in keeping up with your lives.  Loved your future EagleScout, he looks like he really enjoys scouting.

  • Great job.  I love how you’ve hidden behind your camera.

  • like the photo :) your hair is messy curl but it’s good to go! ;)

  • That’s neat Becca, I must remember that trick with the photo editing.

  • great curls

  • Hi Becca!
    Lovely hair! =)
I see your most attractive thing is hidden after all… your brain!
    Have a great weekend!
    Isabel

  • @Gitarezan - I love being able to hide behind the camera and work on it often for portraits of myself.  I manage a few different looks on occassion.  Thanks for the comment.  Something about the way you write manages to make me smile.

@starrynite45 - Yes, I guess you might call them messy curls.  I don’t use anything on my hair except shampoo and conditioner.  I’m not a plaster it down with a hairspray type of girl.

  • What an interesting photo.

  • I’m jealous! I’ve always wanted curly hair!

  • TY so much for your comments on my gray/silver hair.

  • Hmm, vanity doesnt have to be condensed to one specific part…If it had to be that…Then I would say my lips : P
    {Thnx for the lovely compliment, I rather appreciate it}

  • Your hair is borderline Oh-my-freakin-adorable.

I might admit to giggling if I had less pride.

    Woops.

  • I like the way you put your picture in the camera lens. y hair is poker straight… always has been unless I tortured myself with a perm. Then it only looked good for about 3 weeks of it.
    *sparkle

  • @Sezwick - Freakin-adorable works for me.  What a great comment, I haven’t had much adorable for a long time.  Now you, you’re on the adorable side.  Those legs of yours go all the way up even without the steel toes.

@Sparkling_Rainbow - Perms are another thing I don’t do but I will admit to wanting to at times.  I’d like more curl than I have but forget the complaining before it falls out for talking about it.  Lots of people would give their curls up for straight hair.  I think the cut is the important thing, find a hairdresser who knows how to work with it, get the straight cut that is right for you.  As cute as you are the right cut will make you look and feel like a totally new person.  Cheesecake would be in order.

  • Wow awesome photos and loved the poem. You do wonderful things with that camera of yours. Keep up the good work.

    Hugs,
    Ms. Plunge

  • @msplunge - You spoil me kiddo with your great encouragements.  I’m glad you made it here to look.  I have to go find the poem, I can’t recall what it is.  :)
