Weekly Photo Challenge, “Hats”
the subject from, StixAndStonz is:
… “Hats” …
My Photos
There are men’s hats, women’s hats and hats designed specifically for children. They have been fashioned from skins with and without fur, cloth, straw, metals and ?? Like jewelry, head adornment has taken on the colors of the rainbow. Hats have been known to be adorned with jewels, flowers, beads, feathers, ribbons, sequins, shells, and bits and pieces of berries, nuts, teeth and claws and even fruit. A wonderful Internet site for Hats is: http://www.baronhats.com/
Hats or head cover has been worn for centuries as adornment (fancy hats), an indication of status (crowns and tiara) or job situation (military) and as a protection from the elements, heat and cold (hoods and fur caps). Hats or head cover, in some form or other, has been worn in every country by every nation of people. Indication of this is found in ancient drawings and historical documents and we take advantage of what we know by use in decoration of some of our most well known toys, dolls.
Hats are fun and have found a place in nearly every facet of our lives from hats worn on the banks of rivers while fishing to the caps we wear to cheer on our favorite baseball team.
I find a lot of pleasure in the purchase of hats for my husband who is subject to some bad sunburn without them. Because of this one particular fact, I have my own, personal,
Indiana Jones.
So sorry I was late with my entry, again.
Thanks always for your visits and comments.
Have a super week,

I love the hats of the figurines! Beautiful.
Such great photos….your artistry in the “Indiana Jones” picture is my favorite.
@VersaGratis - Hi, you must be a doll lover. I have so many and love each and every one. Hats and costume are a big priority when I buy them but I also look at the hair style and for a beautiful face. I have had to pass up the purchase of so many but every once in a while I see a “must have” new one.
@Timages - Hi Tim, I love the red plaid jacket and cap and bought it years ago for John for Christmas. It may well be nearing forty years old or so. It’s a favorite of mine, he looks so nice in it.
@gandywhite - I like my Indy Jones myself. My hubby is a willing model which helps in the turn out of some fun images. I had problems with lighting outside, shade on his face, hat created and was fighting dark images, not sure why. No matter, I was pretty happy with some of what I managed to get and as you like the one posted, I know it can’t be too bad. The playing in PSP helped. Thanks much for your input.
So colourful! So well put together! So well communicated! An education in itself with such pretty photographic illustrations right bang on the theme. Even the background fits the theme, and only an artist could carry out this submission to the challenge. Well! It is Becca which proves my point and I rest my case. Essence straight from the human spirit. Well done!
THE HATS ASIDE—THESE ARE GREAT PICS BECCA
@tim_beddard - Tim, You always spoil me with your kind comments. I did have fun with this entry and am sure you can tell I like hats. The top photo has the first hat I ever bought for myself. The black straw with the flowers has to be at least 45 years old. Two hats I loved are long gone, both were used in Community theatre, a feathered one was lost and a favorite very large custom made suede paperboy was stolen. I know who took it and will never forgive the little creep.
@KENKEYS - Hi Kenneth, Thanks for your input. Hats Aside, I did have fun. I Think you should unlock your KENKEYS site and play with the challenges with us. Betting Monica has a few hats of her own.
