“I Used a Tripod Mounted Camera
to Get These Images”
Suggested by me:
I’m really tired from our trip to Virginia, we got home late Saturday night. If anyone wants to see a bit of it in photos, go here: http://www.xanga.com/RSBlain
My Tripod Photos
When we picked the cat up from the kennel it was a yowling, unhappy cat. It told me about its experience over the whole evening. He seems to be back to normal but we drop him at the vets on Friday for more work, neutering. I guess I’ll hear about it also. For now, we managed some photos in his worn out but watchful mode.
This poinsettia was a gift from one of my husband’s team at work. I set it in the sink with some water before we left for Virginia and it survived for some photos when we got back.
A night image, a cookie tin from Germany. I love buying cookies in these tins, for Christmas. They are different each year and there is a variety of styles and colors. The tins and cookies are shipped direct from the baker in Germany, this company, Otto Schmidt Lebkuchen. The tin, with its cookies, is the most festive purchase I make for Christmas.
Same window and subject matter but daylight, next day. Lighting sure makes “difference”.
And a closer view of my bottles. My mom collected bottles and the two in brown are exact to some she had. The yellow is a newer piece to my collection, soft in color and beautiful.
M and M’s in pink, money donated from every purchase to Breast Cancer research.
Have a super week and keep taking those photos.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, M&M’s, one of my favorite candies. I’ll be right over to help you eat them.
Great photos, I especially love the expression on the cats face.
Is kitty a calico???? or a tortoise shell???? Love the pics. Lost my camera in the Christmas rush. I hope to find it while tearing down the decs and repacking the stuff for storage.
The time looks really cool. Did you save me some M&M’s?!?

@tkperito - Hi, thanks for your comments and in answer to your question about the cats color/markings, the image may be a bit misleading. Actually the cat is a black and white patchwork or sorts. Very smart cat and very independent. I hope you discover your camera soon. I would go nuts if mine was misplaced.
yummy Lebkuchen ! i like the idea of thwo shots of the same subject with different light Becca, especially when the subject is food
love the look on the cats face too,you wee really lucky with that poinsettia, i have never kept one alive more than about two weeks and thats when i’ve been there to look after it all the time!
…some really nice shots there…thinking, i don’t use my tripod as much as i should….maybe next time out and about…Happy Shooting!
It is sure with the tripod the camera is totally stable and you got a remarkable precision . Looks at the cat ‘ s hair , for instance . or again at the close view of the bottle . All of those photos are really precise and sharp.
Poinsettia is the prefered flower of Janine .
You have made a good harvest of pictures in Virginia !
Love to you , Becca.

@ThePorchswingpoet - Hi and Happy New Year to you. You know, I understand the advantage of the tripod but I have a terrible time with them, tripping over legs and getting it set so the height is just right. Most of my problems are, I think, because my tripod is old and it has appendage problems. I’m going shopping for a new one soon, I hope. I really want good photos and sometimes, my camera shake is really terrible. Here’s to the tripod in the new year for you and for myself. Becca
@fauquet - Michel, you always say the nicest things to infect me with more willingness to try for better images. And yes, I got a boatload of pictures on our trip, too many to put up anywhere and I am doing a lot of weeding of images, hunting and keeping the goodies and trashing the bad. I have some I am pretty happy with and NO TRIPOD used as a huge number of the photos were taken in the moving car. Sometimes I amaze myself when I get photos I am really enthusiastic about, while flying down the road. It’s fun to see it’s possible, and so many of my shots are living proof. Tell Janine I love poinsettia and wish I could buy a boatload every year to set about the house.
I was once at a party in a place in dublin and they had a dish similar to the one full of M&M’s but this dish didn’t have M&m’s in it.
It was so weird to see that I immediately felt suspicious of police or a rade or something and left.
It was too good to be true.
Happy new year
The kitty photo is adorable! Love the cookie tin and the bottles too.

Hope the cat recovers quickly after his ordeal! Love the colours in your photos – very vivid, you have made nice pictures out of your bottles. Exquisitely done!
