This weeks Challenge
”Inanimate Eye Catchers”
There are some inanimate objects that draw me to them. I particularly like bridges, fences, and tall verticles. I photograph a lot of scenes of this type. My entry doesn’t have a big varitey in subject matter but each photo is one I enjoy peeking at now and again and exactly what the real fascination is for me I can’t say.

I love them all!!! Beautiful. I sometimes purposely take a picture of a man made construction against the beauty of creation. They kinda have bodies….LOL. Great stuff.
what i enjoy is finding such different images on individual posts in the challenge. so unique- and i suppose so much a part of who we each are. 5 grabs my attention.- i really like the composition- the ribbons of highway, the vehicles and then the abrupt light columns reaching beyond the frame. 7 has a running commentary for me about the natural- a farming way of live being imposed upon by technology. really interesting shots..
Lovely shots!
Yes, well, inanimate is the word and inanimate it is – spot on. My favourite is the sunset power line. —Tim
Great shots as usual…..

They’re all great. My fav would be #6. Love that sun effect.
I like the composition in 2,4, and 6! Especially 6!!
Wonderful shots! I love the colour of number 6 and the composition of number 7.
Awesome photos. I love the deep blue ske in the back ground in number 2, and that beautiful orange sunset in number 6.
I like the motorway shot. It could be scene from war of the worlds – the lamp-posts could almost be the aliens.
You’d love nearby Hannington Aerial, on a hilltop near us it’s like a beacon, seen for miles around
I like #3 – the structure is too tall to be captured!
I love it! Great concept.
Hreat idea , Becca . Those objects mold the new landscape and especillt the various poles .
My fav is the highway that looks like a double ribbon with the lot of cars and the light pole .Of course the sunser behing the electic pole is stunning too .
Love
Michel
ps : we have family at home for more than a week .
please read : and especially the various poles .
Human made structures such as windmills, cell-phone towers, and high-tension towers have always intrigued me. I think you have a great collection here that conveys how humans are competing with nature.
Hallo Becca, i really am sorry for being so late, i didnt even see this challenge as we were away in Mainz for the week end, great shots, i used to have a thing about pylons and towers , i took heaps way back when with a pre digital camera, course i cant find them now!
@Timages - I have been wondering about you and thinking of tracking you down. Jump in and post if you feel up to it. It’s never too late. Believe me when I say, you have been missed.
I wouldn’t of thought of those things you did….but your right they do catch your eye…good thinking.
