“SPRING COLOURS”:  the joy of renewal comes with colorful/colourful Spring Flowers.

Spring brings out the sellers and the buyers.

Then, flowers are planted everywhere which is great for photo taking.

I replanted the area around our porch with Impatiens,
Pansies, Petunias, and some dwarf Zinnia.
This is one of my pots filled with Impatiens.  I love Spring.

“TEARS”:  I have shed tears because I was hurt, sad, happy or fit to be tied with bouts of rage/outrage or fear.  I have cried when provoked through real encounters, reading books or watching movies.

I love movies.  Movies, in my estimation, to be good, must elicit emotion from the viewer.  Some movies are tears jerkers for part of or all of the above mentioned reasons and I enjoy taking part in the tear jerking experience.  If I laugh or cry or get angry, I know I realized what the screenplay writer wanted me to feel and maybe a bit of what he didn’t.

A few of my photos from movies that make me emotional as I like them well enough to watch them over and over.  The images were taken with my Canon Digital Rebel as I watched the television screen. (Don’t zoom in, it makes the lines show up more.  Take photos at an angle not straight ahead and use a very slow shutter speed plus the light needed)

A much shortened list of some of my VERY FAVORITE MOVIES after the images.

I love super hero movies, good over evil.
All the Batman movies are filled with excitement
and lots of special effects to keep you alert, amazed, emotional.
The color in Batman 3 is so exciting it can’t help
but keep you emotionally appreciative of the art involved.
Dick Tracy is another movie I love, filled with color and surprises.

The list of movies below all bring tears and just thinking about some of them will do it.
1- Bridges of Madison County w/Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep.
2- The Last Samurai w/Tom Cruise and Ken Watanabe
    3- Amistad w/Morgan Freeman
    4- Braveheart w/Mel Gibson
    5- Brokeback Mountain w/Keith Ledger
6- 50 First Dates, a really nice love story and well done comedy that brings some tears w/Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.
7- Yentl w/Barbara Streisand and Mandy Patinkin.
8- Million Dollar Baby w/Clint Eastwood, Hilary Swank, and Morgan Freeman
9- Unforgiven w/Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman

12- One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest w/Jack Nicholson
13- Easy Rider w/Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda
    14- The Notebook w/James Garner
15- Mr. Smith Goes to Washington w/Jimmy Stewart
16- Message in a Bottle w/Kevin Costner with a tear jerker of an ending.

As you can see, I love variety.  I own hundreds of movies including from better children’s stories to the dramatic and scary.  I have shed a lot of tears while being entertained and at the same time, done some learning, from a tremendous lot of viewpoints within the movies and gone places I could never get to in any other way.

    “Have movies, will travel.”
Tears to all of you and keep on taking those photos.

  • Weekly Photo Challenge: “Air shows”

     ”AIR SHOWS” suggested by Jaynebug

I would love to go to an air show!  of any kind, models or the real thing.  I am now and always have been fascinated by airplanes or blimps or balloons.  I find them all more than interesting.  I believe I have somewhere some images of flying lawn mowers and planes etc built by model enthusiasts, which my uncle used to be.  We had many occasions to see lots of flying models but we seldom get to shows anymore.

THAT IS NOT TO SAY I HAVE NO PHOTOS BECAUSE I GRAB PHOTOS, INCLUDING FLYING OBJECTS, FROM WHERE I CAN WHEN I CAN.

My Photos / My Air Show

1-  NAVY JETS:  When in Virginia, Virginia Beach U.S.A. we always find time for some beach time and as the naval base and military airstrips are right there, I can usually catch something flying overhead.  This and Photo #2 we taken in September of 2006 with my Kodak DC 4800.  Not a really sophisticated camera but it took some fine photos.

2-  NAVY JETS  and I have no idea how high they are but they make a really fine air show doing nothing but take off, fly and land.

    Airshow-3_RSBlain.jpg

3-  This photo and those following were all taken with my Canon Rebel in Columbus, Ohio, USA.  My sister lives only a few miles from the airport and planes fly overhead often during landings and takeoff.  My goal, catch an image so sharp and close-up I can see the pilot or passengers.

    4-  United Airliner

6-  I haven’t a clue about this plane but it provided a fine picture and excitement for me as I took the images I am displaying for “AIR SHOWS”.

Have a super week and continue taking those photos.

  • Weekly Photo Challenge: “5 Cherished Possessions”, Superstition, Super Close, Your Wheels”

    and

Its seldom I manage  to make the break completely from the computer.  This past month I managed more than usual doing some outdoor relaxing and a lot of movie watching.  Any typing on the computer keyboard was strictly for the fun of it, no schedule no hassle attempting to salve the fact I DID NOT get to see my granddaughter graduate.  My back dictates my schedules and it dictated that I stay home while John went to Virginia.  I wasn’t terrifically happy.  You would think I would be used to not always getting what I want.  Anyway …

1- suggested by TressaD 5 Cherished Material Possessions include Photos, Books, Movies,  my digital camera and computer in that order and that totals 5.  These things are what I’d be unhappy to lose over and above most other material things we have.

The Ring stories/movies are based on this ring, the black magic it carries and the need to destroy it.  I took the photo while watching my DVD on our television.
