I would love to go to an air show! of any kind, models or the real thing. I am now and always have been fascinated by airplanes or blimps or balloons. I find them all more than interesting. I believe I have somewhere some images of flying lawn mowers and planes etc built by model enthusiasts, which my uncle used to be. We had many occasions to see lots of flying models but we seldom get to shows anymore.
THAT IS NOT TO SAY I HAVE NO PHOTOS BECAUSE I GRAB PHOTOS, INCLUDING FLYING OBJECTS, FROM WHERE I CAN WHEN I CAN.
My Photos / My Air Show
1- NAVY JETS: When in Virginia, Virginia Beach U.S.A. we always find time for some beach time and as the naval base and military airstrips are right there, I can usually catch something flying overhead. This and Photo #2 we taken in September of 2006 with my Kodak DC 4800. Not a really sophisticated camera but it took some fine photos.
2- NAVY JETS and I have no idea how high they are but they make a really fine air show doing nothing but take off, fly and land.
3- This photo and those following were all taken with my Canon Rebel in Columbus, Ohio, USA. My sister lives only a few miles from the airport and planes fly overhead often during landings and takeoff. My goal, catch an image so sharp and close-up I can see the pilot or passengers.
4- United Airliner
5- a closer look at a portion of image #4.
6- I haven’t a clue about this plane but it provided a fine picture and excitement for me as I took the images I am displaying for “AIR SHOWS”.
Have a super week and continue taking those photos.

What a lovely job!!
My husband has taken me to many air shows and in several states. We even got to attend one flight of the Blue Angels in Pensacola FL. Wow they were LOUD!!! But fascinating!
Nice Air Show! You have to find the flying lawn mower picture and post it please.
@guestbrief - We got to see the Blue Angels years ago and it was a thrill. (VERY LOUD) hahaha
I haven’t been to an air show since I was a young girl.
These pics are great!
Such wonderful captures.!!!
You did well here Becca getting these images. Unfortunately I have not got anything suitable to exhibit as most of mine are museum pieces on the ground. Let me know when you get to see the Pilot. Wel done! ~ Tim
Well done Becca, i live well away from the airport and the air lanes so no chance for me,but i hope you get that shot of the pilot, looking forward to seeing the flying lawnmower
Can’t say that I would enjoy living near an airport….but it brought back memories of high school sweethearts “parking” at the end of the runway to “watch” the planes take off and land. You could never do that now with all the security.
A plane always is beautiful , Becca, and this is what you photo show . They imit the birds shape and they are more and more impressing .
Today is the 100 th anniversary of the first flight across the Strait of Dover between France and England by Louis Bleriot in July 1909 . How much fast progress made since then , for the best and the worst .
Love
Michel
Great photos!!!!!!!! My guess is the last one is either a Lear Jet or a Cessna.
@Gitarezan - I’m trying to remember if I answered you the last time you stopped by. I always appreciate your stops and comments. I am not posting like I should, not as regularly but am trying to get back to it. I am sure you are missed. I always wonder about you and your photos when you stop by here. Life is about the same, always something needing done and never enough time. I hope all is well with you and your other half in your part of the world. Jump in when you have time and play with the group. Becca
